With the announcement of the Carnegie Shortlist this week, one class of voracious readers in Year 8 is embarking on the Carnegie Shadowing Scheme.
Each student will aim to read all eight shortlisted titles, and respond in a creative and constructive manner. Past students have produced work ranging from book reviews to alternative cover designs, narrative mash-ups to literary-themed baking. Thanks to our school’s links to the world of publishing there has even been scope for participants to interact directly with shortlisted authors!
This is the fourteenth year that BGS students will be engaged in the scheme and we look forward to seeing their progress and responses about the shortlisted titles: in the Library, on this blog and on our own dedicated BGS Carnegie Shadowing site.
