This weekend the Bristol Watershed plays host to a series of talks, panels and screenings celebrating the past, present and future of women in literature. Bringing together some of the country’s foremost authors, screenwriters, academics and feminist commentators, the festival aims to celebrate the creativity and diversity of women’s writing and literary history. Events will cover a range of topics, including feminism for non-academic audiences, the history of women’s writing and women’s issues in mainstream TV and film.
This is the first time that such an event has been held in Bristol, and it is entirely unfunded. Support your local literary “scene” by attending an event or two. More information and tickets for each event are available via the Watershed website here and are £6 with a valid student card, or a festival pass for the whole weekend will bring the best value at £20.
