World Book Day 6th March 2014: Book Starts Quiz

We decided to celebrate World Book Day this year by doing something a little different - a quiz! But not just any quiz, a quiz that had two GIANT LINDT CHOCOLATE BUNNIES up for grabs.

In order to be in with a chance of winning one of these magnificent creatures, you had to know your books. More specifically, you had to know your opening lines!

The Book Starts Quiz did what it said on the tin; you had to guess the book AND the author from just the opening lines. To make this a little more fair, we did a quiz for Years 7 to 9 and then another one for Years 10 to Upper Sixth. In order to win, you had to get the most amount of correct answers.

Taking the opening lines from books such as Billionaire Boy by David Walliams to the classic (but difficult) The Color Purple by Alice Walker, we weren't making it easy for those wanting to win the coveted chocolate prizes.

Despite a difficult challenge, there were 2 clear winners; Sarah from Year 7 and Pippa from U6, both getting only one wrong answer.

Congratulation girls, just don't eat it all in one go!
