On Thursday 28th February all of us at BGS Juniors are thrilled to be welcoming top author and journalist, Lucy Hawking.
Hawking has toured the world delivering talks to young audiences about her love of physics, astronomy and cosmology. She has spoken at such illustrious events as NASA’s 50th birthday celebrations where she gave a talk on engaging young people in science and education and is also the winner of the 2008 Sapio Prize for Popularizing Science.
The author of three adventure stories based on science for a young readership, Hawking will speak to our students about her most recent work, George and the Big Bang (which she co-authored with her father Professor Stephen Hawking). Translated into 37 languages, the George series of books has been a critical and commercial success and brings the complex concepts of physics and cosmology to a new audience.
