Yet again, Y7 Diamonds started the new school year with a great Library Activity, involving plenty of lively discussions about our favourite books, authors, book covers and lots of bookish things in between. During
non-fiction week, they raced around the library doing the Dewey Quiz and
entertained us all with the results of their treasure hunts.
After spending a week preparing their presentations, they were one of the few groups to finish and submit most presentations on time! Congratulations to the winners Lucy and Lucas who delivered a great presentation about book covers confidently and with lots of well-controlled audience participation!! Noah and Rob came second with their presentation on Penguin Publishing which was very well researched and delivered.
Just pipped into third place were Kyle and Ben with a very good presentation on the Children’s Laureate containing lots of information about the past and present holder(s) of the role.

In the final
week there was talk about the history of BGS which intrigued most students, especially the pictures showing the transformation of the staircase leading to the Great Hall several years ago. The fun quiz that followed was keenly contested and 'Toffee Cornflakes' won by a single point.
Well done Diamonds – we look forward to
seeing you in the Library again very soon!
