Following a well-fought campaign on all sides, congratulations go to Shanuk, the Conservative candidate who won by a mere 7 votes from Emily, the Green candidate. Shanuk carried the Year 11 and 6th form vote while Emily topped the Junior School, Year 7 and Senior School staff vote. The Communist Party, represented by Joseph made a good showing and came third. This was probably due largely to Joseph's idiosyncratic interpretation of Communism which seemed to appeal to Years 9 and 10 and almost won him Year 8 as well (he lost out to Shanuk by one vote)! Annabel came 4th for Labour, Hannah, the Lib Dem candidate was 5th and Chris came 6th for UKIP .
Well done to all the candidates and their supporters for their boundless enthusiasm and energy and thanks you to Dr Massey and all the staff and students that supported the election.
